We believe that a bright, inviting, busy and exciting environment with lots to look at, play with, learn from and investigate is key to a child’s development. This is why we have developed the nursery to be a setting that children look forward to visiting and one that will stimulate their progression.
The nursery offers four play areas for the children plus their own mini ICT area. We are in the enviable position of being in a local park which offers outdoor adventures and the opportunity for children to see a variety of small birds and animals, that like to be fed. The nursery has an outdoor area, which will be used in-conjunction with the park and it's facilities. The environment is set out to encourage self choice and independence for the children. We ensure that resources and equipment are age appropriate for the children and will enhance their skills. .
Buttercup room
This room is for babies from 3months to 1 year (or until they are mobile)
The room holds a maximum of 9 babies and will have three members of staff working within the room.
Daisy room
Our daisy room is for children from 1 year + to 2 and a half. The room can hold a maximum of 18 children.
Sunflower room
Our Sunflower room caters for children 2 and a half to five. The first floor can cater for a maximum of 28 children.
Outdoor Area
We have a large outdoor area, which we use daily. The idea behind outdoor play is that it enables us to employ the nursery curriculum inside and out. The children can exercise and gain confidence with their balance and co-ordination. The children develop skills in interaction and negotiation and are encouraged to use their imaginations.
All equipment and resources used within the nursery environment are purchased from specialist educational catalogues and have passed stringent safety standards. The nursery also carries out daily checks on resources and equipment to ensure it remains safe and fit for purpose.
